Our Story: The Heart Behind the Care
PK Care LLC was born from a deeply personal journey that highlights the transformative power of caregiving. In 1986, founder Cyndie Oneha was faced with the responsibility of caring for her mother, who had been diagnosed with cancer. Through this intimate and challenging experience, Cyndie realized the profound impact that compassionate, personalized care could have—not only on patients but on entire families.

Inspired by this life-changing period, Cyndie pursued her State of Hawaii Nurse Aide certification in 2008 and began offering professional services. Through years of dedication in private homes, nursing facilities, and independent care homes, she identified a crucial gap in the industry: the need for consistent excellence in one-on-one care that truly prioritized clients' needs.

In 2013, Cyndie transformed her vision into reality by founding PK Care LLC. The company's name honors both her mentor, Mr. Paul Kurata, who encouraged her to establish her legacy, and her own middle initials (Puanani Kinikia). Today, PK Care LLC stands as a leader in Hawaii's caregiving services, known for its personalized approach, rigorous standards, and commitment to empowering both clients and caregivers.

Cyndie’s commitment to caregiving extends beyond her caregiving agency. Through the CNA Apprenticeship Program, she mentors aspiring caregivers, providing them with the tools and guidance they need to succeed. Her leadership has transformed PK Care LLC into a trusted name in Hawaii’s caregiving community, and her passion continues to inspire those around her.
